I am reading my poem to my friend.  I am a good, good reader now!

Kelly Sports.

We are learning to throw and catch on Tuesday mornings at Kelly Sports, 

with Coach Cameron.

Who Am I?

We had to tell about ourselves.  I had to think about me and what I look like.  Then write down the words and they are the clues.  We put them into a book so that other people can read them.  They have to think about what person it might be.  It is mystery to solve!!  It was tricky to write the sentences because I don't know all of the words yet.

Telling the Time.

At Maths time I was learning to tell the time on a clock or a watch or a phone or on the ipad.   On this clock here, the big hand is on the 12, and the little hand is on the 7.  This means it is 7 o'clock.  If I change the little hand and it points to 2, then it would be 2 o'clock.  If I change the big hand to the 6, it would be half past 2.  At first it was tricky to learn the time, but now it's easy.

Reading Eggs.

I just do Reading eggs at school.  My brother does it at home on the ipad too.  I had to match the words and the picture.  It is tricky for me because I get some right and some wrong.  Next I would like to do a game on Reading eggs.

Year 1 Skipping Day.

Writing New Words.

We are learning to read and write new words by thinking about the end sounds of the words.  I had a little walk in the room and then I put these words on the laptop.  Then I did some all by myself.  It was tricky for me because I can't find the words that have the p at the end.  Next time I would like to do a j and an a at the end.

Origami Art.

On Friday the 3rd of August, some Japanese homestay students visited us from Botany College.  We chatted to them first, took them for a tour around our school, and then they helped us to fold some Origami.  My buddy helped me to make a heart and a rose.

My Shape Art.

We are learning about shapes like circles, triangles, ovals, rectangles and squares.  I made a spaceship and I used all of them and a diamond and some stars.  It was tricky to cut the circle because it was hard to cut around.  And the stars were tricky because I cannot draw them by myself.  Next time I would love to make Earth.

Space Writing.

We have been learning about the planets and the stars.  I wrote a story about the stars and Mrs Kerr imported my words onto this star shape.  My star looks beautiful!

Mathletics on the Ipad.

I am playing Mathletics at school on the ipad.  When I get it right I get a green tick.  I am getting better.  I will try it at my house on the ipad.

Reading on the Ipad.

I am learning to use the Ipad to read a QR code.  I can choose a book cover.   I scan the QR code and then the story comes up on Youtube.  It can be tricky to scan some of the books.  I enjoy it because I can listen to the story and I can watch it at the same time.  I chose this book called Meg and Mog.

Reading in Room 1.

I know all my alphabet letters now but I am still learning all my words.  I learn them at home and I learn them at school.  I am getting better and better and soon I can read books about Harry Potter or Minions or Butterflies or even something different.

First we draw a picture from our memory.  Then we draw with the teacher, doing it very slowly.  We have to draw lines like zigzags, curves, circles and lines.  When our work is amazing, the teacher makes it bigger on the photocopier.  Then we can colour it in but we still have to BE VERY CAREFUL!  Here is our beautiful, super work from Term 1!

Maths Games in Room 1.

I have to look at the number on the astronaut and then match it with the rocket that has the same number of stars.  It's tricky to count all of the stars because sometimes it has 8 stars but when you check again there are 7 stars.  They have to be the same.

Fun and Fitness.

We have been working on our fitness this term and we have been trying some new activities.  Here I am skipping and

                                     using the ladder and hurdles.
